Where the lower garment should reach

It is narrated from Abu al-Mutawakkil (may Allah have mercy on him) that he saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and his izar (lower garment) came to the middle of his shins, his shirt was over it, and his cloak was over the shirt.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the lower garment of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) used to reach halfway down his shins. He (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about this, and he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This is how the lower garment of our companion (i.e. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)) used to be."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that "the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'When your lower garment (izar) is wide enough that the upper part of the body can also be covered with it, then wrap it around yourself (as a cloak); and when it is narrow, then tie it (only) as a lower garment (around the lower part of the body).'"
The narrator of this hadith, Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Farwah, is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).
