Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 2248 — Where the lower garment should reach

قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ ثَرْوَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ [قَالَ] : أَنَّهُ رَأَى ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، وَإِزَارُهُ إِلَى نِصْفِ سَاقِهِ ، وَقَمِيصُهُ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ ، وَرِدَاؤُهُ فَوْقَ الْقَمِيصِ " .
It is narrated from Abu al-Mutawakkil (may Allah have mercy on him) that he saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and his izar (lower garment) came to the middle of his shins, his shirt was over it, and his cloak was over the shirt.
