Beating the daff at a wedding and announcing it

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that whenever the Commander of the Believers, Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him), heard any (unusual) sound, he would be startled (because of his alertness and sense of responsibility); then, if he was told that it was only a circumcision gathering or a wedding occasion, he would (be reassured and) fall silent.

Hammad bin Zayd narrates from Hisham bin Hassan that Imam Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) liked the beating of the daff on the occasion of the marriage contract.

It is narrated from Amir bin Sa'd al-Bajali (may Allah have mercy on him): I was present at a wedding in the gathering of Sayyiduna Thabit bin Wadi'ah and Sayyiduna Qarazah bin Ka'b al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with them both), and the sound of singing was heard. They were asked about it, and they said: "Indeed, a concession has been given for singing at a wedding and for weeping over the dead without wailing and lamentation." In another route, Amir bin Sa'd (may Allah have mercy on him) relates: I went to Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr, Sayyiduna Thabit bin Yazid and Sayyiduna Qarazah bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with them), and there girls were singing and fragrant flowers had been placed. I said (in surprise): Is this being done in your company? They replied: "We have been given permission for singing at a marriage and for weeping over the dead without wailing and mourning." Likewise, another report mentions Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud, Sayyiduna Qarazah bin Ka'b and Sayyiduna Yazid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with them), from whom a statement of the same meaning is transmitted.
According to the commentators, the most preserved (mahfuz) name is Thabit bin Yazid, who is the son of Yazid bin Wadi'ah.
Imam al-Nasa'i narrated it through Sharik from Abu Ishaq, and in it only Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud Uqbah bin Amr and Sayyiduna Qarazah bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with them both) are mentioned.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): "Indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) liked marriage to be announced and made known publicly."
Imam Abu Abdullah, that is, Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi, said that the word 'ibanah' means expressing the marriage clearly and making it known to all.
