الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ، ثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، وَاسْمُهُ الَّذِي يُعْرَفُ بِهِ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ النَّحَّامِ ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمَّاهُ صَالِحًا ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : اخْطُبْ عَلَيَّ ابْنَةَ صَالِحٍ ! فَقَالَ : لَهُ يَتَامَى ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُؤْثِرَنَا عَلَيْهِمْ .
فَانْطَلَقَ عَبْدُ اللهِ إِلَى عَمِّهِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، لِيَخْطُبَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَانْطَلَقَ بِهِ إِلَى صَالِحٍ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَرْسَلَنِي إِلَيْكَ يَخْطُبُ ابْنَتَكَ ، فَقَالَ : لِي يَتَامَى ، وَلَمْ أَكُنْ لِأُتْرِبَ لَحْمِي وَأَرْفَعَ لَحْمَكُمْ ! إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ أَنْكَحْتُهَا فُلَانًا .
وَكَانَ هَوَى أُمِّهَا إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، خَطَبَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ابْنَتِي ، فَأَنْكَحَهَا أَبُوهَا يَتِيمًا فِي حِجْرِهِ وَلَمْ يُؤَامِرْهَا ، فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى صَالِحٍ فَقَالَ : " أَنْكَحْتَ ابْنَتَكَ ، وَلَمْ تُؤَامِرْهَا ؟ " قَالَ : نَعَمْ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَشِيرُوا عَلَى النِّسَاءِ فِي أَنْفُسِهِنَّ " ، مَرَّتَيْنِ . فَقَالَ صَالِحٌ : إِنَّمَا فَعَلْتُ هَذَا لِمَا يُصْدِقُهَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، فَإِنَّ لَهَا مِنْ مَالِي مِثْلَ مَا أَعْطَاهَا .
1581 \ 2 - تَابَعَهُ عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ . أَخْرَجَهُ ابْنُ السَّكَنِ فِي الصَّحَابَةِ مِنْ طَرِيقِهِ .
* وَهُوَ مُرْسَلٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ ، إِبْرَاهِيمُ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ السَّمَاعَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَيُقَالُ : إِنَّهُ وُلِدَ عَلَى عَهْدِهِ.
فَانْطَلَقَ عَبْدُ اللهِ إِلَى عَمِّهِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، لِيَخْطُبَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَانْطَلَقَ بِهِ إِلَى صَالِحٍ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَرْسَلَنِي إِلَيْكَ يَخْطُبُ ابْنَتَكَ ، فَقَالَ : لِي يَتَامَى ، وَلَمْ أَكُنْ لِأُتْرِبَ لَحْمِي وَأَرْفَعَ لَحْمَكُمْ ! إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ أَنْكَحْتُهَا فُلَانًا .
وَكَانَ هَوَى أُمِّهَا إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، خَطَبَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ابْنَتِي ، فَأَنْكَحَهَا أَبُوهَا يَتِيمًا فِي حِجْرِهِ وَلَمْ يُؤَامِرْهَا ، فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى صَالِحٍ فَقَالَ : " أَنْكَحْتَ ابْنَتَكَ ، وَلَمْ تُؤَامِرْهَا ؟ " قَالَ : نَعَمْ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَشِيرُوا عَلَى النِّسَاءِ فِي أَنْفُسِهِنَّ " ، مَرَّتَيْنِ . فَقَالَ صَالِحٌ : إِنَّمَا فَعَلْتُ هَذَا لِمَا يُصْدِقُهَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، فَإِنَّ لَهَا مِنْ مَالِي مِثْلَ مَا أَعْطَاهَا .
1581 \ 2 - تَابَعَهُ عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ . أَخْرَجَهُ ابْنُ السَّكَنِ فِي الصَّحَابَةِ مِنْ طَرِيقِهِ .
* وَهُوَ مُرْسَلٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ ، إِبْرَاهِيمُ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ السَّمَاعَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَيُقَالُ : إِنَّهُ وُلِدَ عَلَى عَهْدِهِ.
Ibrahim bin Salih (may Allah have mercy on him) reports that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): "Propose on my behalf for the daughter of Sayyiduna Salih (may Allah be pleased with him) (whose well-known name is Sayyiduna Nu'aym bin al-Nahham (may Allah be pleased with him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) named him Salih)!" He said: "He has orphans (in his care), and he will not prefer us over them." Then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) went to his paternal uncle, Sayyiduna Zayd bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), so that he would ask for her hand on his behalf. So he took him to Sayyiduna Salih (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Abdullah bin Umar has sent me to you; he is asking for your daughter's hand." He replied: "I have orphans (relatives in my care), and I will not leave my own flesh and blood in need in order to raise the standing of well-off people like you! I take you as witnesses that I have married her to so-and-so." However, the girl's mother inclined towards Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), so she came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Abdullah bin Umar asked for my daughter's hand, but her father has married her to an orphan under his care and did not even seek her opinion." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for Sayyiduna Salih (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked: "Have you married off your daughter without even consulting her?" He replied: "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said twice: "Consult women regarding their own affairs." Sayyiduna Salih (may Allah be pleased with him) said (mentioning his financial sacrifice): "I did all this so that whatever dowry Ibn Umar would give her, I would give her the same amount in addition from my own wealth (as a gift or trousseau)." This narration is mursal and its chain is sahih (authentic); Ibrahim did not hear from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), though it is said that he was born in the Prophetic era.
وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ سُرَيْجٍ ، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، ثَنَا فُضَيْلٌ أَبُو مُعَاذٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُزَوِّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ نِسَائِهِ قَالَ : " إِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ يَذْكُرُ فُلَانَةَ بِنْتَ فُلَانٍ " .
أَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ أَتَمَّ مِنْ هَذَا مِنْ طَرِيقِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا .
أَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ أَتَمَّ مِنْ هَذَا مِنْ طَرِيقِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to marry off one of the women under his care, he would say (mentioning it to her): "So-and-so, son of so-and-so, is mentioning so-and-so, daughter of so-and-so (that is, proposing marriage)." Imam Ahmad recorded this narration more completely and in greater detail than this, through the route of Abu Salamah from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ أَوْ مُهَاجِرِ بْنِ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَقَّ بَيْنَ جَارِيَةٍ بِكْرٍ وَبَيْنَ زَوْجِهَا ، زَوَّجَهَا أَبُوهَا وَهِيَ كَارِهَةٌ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا زَوَّجَ أَحَدًا مِنْ بَنَاتِهِ أَتَى خِدْرَهَا وَقَالَ : " إِنَّ فُلَانًا يَذْكُرُ فُلَانَةً ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) separated a virgin girl from her husband, because her father had married her off while she was unwilling." And the narrator says: "It was the blessed practice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that whenever he wished to marry off one of his daughters, he would come to her curtain and say: 'So-and-so is mentioning so-and-so (the daughter) (that is, proposing marriage).'"
