It is narrated from a certain (Companion) (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no person who, in the state of ihram, removes his cloth (to bear the heat of the sun), and the sun keeps burning him until it sets, except that his sins also come to an end with the setting of the sun."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever completes his rites of Hajj (acts of worship), and the Muslims remain safe from the harm of his tongue and his hand, all his past and future sins are forgiven."
Imam Abd bin Humayd narrated this hadith with the same chain, but in his narration the words "and future sins" are not mentioned.

Imam Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) relates that Abu Amir al-Aqadi informed us, from Muhammad bin Abi Humayd, from Muhammad bin al-Munkadir, from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The delegation that presents itself before Allah Almighty consists of three: the one who performs Hajj, the one who performs Umrah, and the warrior who strives in jihad in the path of Allah."
(The comment of the hadith scholars regarding this narration is that) Muhammad bin Abi Humayd is a da'if (weak) narrator; furthermore, Imam al-Bazzar recorded this same narration through al-Walid bin Amr bin Sukayn, Abu Asim and Muhammad bin Abi Humayd, and stated explicitly that Muhammad bin Abi Humayd is alone in narrating this hadith, and that he has hadiths which are not supported or corroborated by other reliable sources.

It is narrated from Mirdas bin Abd al-Rahman: I came into the presence of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he narrated this hadith to us: "There is no one who raises his voice (in the talbiyah of Hajj or in the remembrance of Allah), 'yuhillu' (calls out), except that Allah Almighty says to him: 'Receive glad tidings,' 'abshir' (rejoice)." Hearing this, Mirdas's paternal uncle submitted: "O Abu Muhammad! By Allah, Allah Almighty gives glad tidings (on such an occasion) of nothing but Paradise." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked: "O my nephew, who are you?" He submitted: "I am Mirdas bin Shaddad al-Junaydi." Then he (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O my nephew! The best of our predecessors used to adhere to this way and practice, one after another."

Imam al-Humaydi (may Allah have mercy on him) relates that Sufyan narrated to us, narrating from Muhammad bin Suqah, that the eminent Successor Ibn al-Munkadir (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: "Do you attain the blessing of Hajj even in a state where the burden of debt is upon you?" He replied: "Hajj is far more helpful and supportive (than other means) in paying off debt."
The commentators of hadith say in explaining this statement that Hajj performed with sincerity removes poverty, and by its blessing Allah Almighty opens unseen ways for the servant to pay off his debt.

Abdullah bin Tawus narrates from his father (the eminent Successor Tawus bin Kaysan, may Allah have mercy on him) that he stated: When we set out towards Makkah (for Hajj), my father would take us from his place over a distance of one month; but when we returned, he would take us over two months (stopping again and again along the way). When he was asked the reason for this practice, he said: "Indeed, it has reached me that a man remains continuously on the path of Hajj and in its reward until he enters (back) among his family."
This report makes clear that the honoured predecessors had such ardent love for the worship of Hajj that they liked to lengthen the return journey, so that the spiritual state and virtue of this great act of worship would continue for a long time.

So whoever sets out towards this House as one performing Hajj or Umrah, or merely intending a visit (for the pleasure of Allah), is under the responsibility and guarantee of Allah Almighty: if Allah takes his soul, He will admit him into Paradise; and if He returns him safe and sound, He will return him with reward and spoils."

According to the narration related by Imam Abu Ya'la (may Allah have mercy on him), it is narrated from the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sets out on this road with the intention of Hajj or Umrah and dies during that very journey, he will not be presented (on the Day of Resurrection) for reckoning, nor will he be called to account; rather, it will be said to him: 'Enter Paradise.'"
The narrator A'idh mentioned in this chain is actually Ibn Nusayr (whose name is in the diminutive form, with nun and the undotted letter sin), and he is da'if (weak); while Ibn al-Sammak refers to Muhammad bin Subayh, and there is also weakness in him from a scholarly standpoint.
