Amr bin Shu'ayb narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr, may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, the fasting person has, at the time of breaking his fast, a supplication which is certainly answered (in the court of Allah)." So when Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) broke his fast, he would gather his family and children and supplicate earnestly before Allah.
I (the author, Ibn Hajar) say: This hadith is found in the Sunan of Ibn Majah through another chain from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both), both marfu' (attributed to the Prophet) and mawquf (halted at the Companion), with different wording.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Ali! When you are fasting in the month of Ramadan, recite this supplication after breaking your fast: 'Allahumma laka sumtu, wa 'alayka tawakkaltu, wa 'ala rizqika aftartu' (O Allah, for You alone I fasted, in You alone I trusted, and with the provision You granted I broke my fast). Then a reward equal to that of all the people who fasted that day will be written for you, without the reward of those fasting people themselves being reduced in the least."
