Khaythamah bin Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The example of one who reviles the deceased is like that of a person standing on the brink of destruction; and the example of one who sits on the bed of a woman whose husband is away from home is like that of a person whose backside will be widened on the Day of Resurrection."
Clarification: This report contains a severe warning against reviling the deceased and against going to a non-mahram woman whose husband is not at home.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the funeral of a man of the Ansar passed before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was praised with good, whereupon he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It has become due." Then another funeral passed by him (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was praised less (than the first), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: "It has become due." It was said: O Messenger of Allah, what has become due? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels are Allah's witnesses in the heavens, and you are Allah's witnesses on the earth."
