It is narrated from al-Hakam bin al-A'raj or Husayn bin Abi al-Hurr that he said: I saw Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) perform the Friday prayer, then pray two rak'ahs immediately after it.
At this the people said (in objection or surprise): "He has completed it, he has completed it (that is, he joined the obligatory and the sunnah together)." When I mentioned this to Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), he said (stating the gravity of this act): "It is dearer to me that small spears should pierce my belly and pass into one another than that I should deliberately do such a thing (that is, not leave a gap between the obligatory and the sunnah)."
The narrator said: Then I watched him closely on the following Friday; he performed the Friday prayer, then sat with his knees drawn up (holding them against his belly with his garment or hands), and did not perform any (voluntary or sunnah) prayer until he stood for the Asr prayer.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Tell us about Friday: what aspects of goodness and blessing are hidden in it?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This day has five distinctive features: on this day Allah Almighty created Adam (peace be upon him); on this day Allah Almighty sent Adam (peace be upon him) down to the earth; on this day Allah Almighty took the soul of Adam (peace be upon him) (that is, he passed away); and on this day there comes an hour in which any Muslim servant who asks Allah Almighty for anything, Allah Almighty will surely give it to him, provided he does not ask for a sin or for the severing of family ties; and on this day the Hour will be established. There is no angel brought near, nor earth, nor mountains, nor winds, except that they tremble and are struck with awe on Friday (out of fear of the Hour)."
Zakariyya bin Adi narrated this hadith from Abdullah bin Amr, from Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqil, with the same chain.
This hadith is hasan (good), provided that Shurahbil's hearing (direct audition) from his grandfather Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) is established.
