Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 916 — The grains from which zakah is taken

It is narrated from Abu Burdah bin Abi Musa (may Allah have mercy on him) that when Sayyiduna Abu Musa and Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with them both) were sent to Yemen to teach the people their religion, the two of them collected zakah only from these four kinds: wheat, barley, dates and raisins.
Abu Hudhayfah and al-Ashja'i corroborated this report from Sufyan, as recorded by Imam al-Bayhaqi. Imam al-Bayhaqi also narrated it through the route of Waki' from Talhah, in which, through Abu Burdah, he mentioned only Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him), and did not mention Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) in this chain.
