Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 516 — A slight action does not invalidate

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): "Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in prostration, and he climbed onto his (peace and blessings be upon him) blessed back. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) held him with his blessed hand and stood up in that state, with him still riding on his (peace and blessings be upon him) back; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) bowed, and after that he let him down, and he (may Allah be pleased with him) went away."
In the chain of this report, Muhammad bin Abi Layla has been graded da'if (weak) because of the weakness of his memory, and Atiyyah al-Awfi is also a questionable narrator; however, there are other reliable supporting reports and narrations about carrying children during the prayer and about al-Hasan and al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) riding on his blessed back.
