حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - قَالَ : كَانَ حُصِرَ فِيمَا قِيلَ مِنْ جَعْفَرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ تِسْعُونَ ، بَيْنَ ضَرْبَةٍ بِسَيْفٍ وَطَعْنَةٍ بِرُمْحٍ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "According to what was reported about Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him), the wounds on his pure body (in the Battle of Mu'tah) were counted at ninety (90), among them sword strikes and spear wounds."
