حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، ثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْجُعْفِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Whoever would be delighted to look at a man from the people of Paradise, let him look at al-Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both), for I indeed heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say this about him."
Although al-Rabi' bin Sa'd al-Ju'fi in the chain of this hadith has been criticised, in the light of other supporting reports and corroborating chains the meaning of this narration is established by sahih (authentic) hadith.
