It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) that, while addressing (the people) from the pulpit, he said: "I remind, by Allah Almighty, any man who heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Indeed, the Noble Qur'an was revealed upon seven ahruf, all of them shafin kafin (healing and sufficient),' that he must stand up." So many people stood up that they could no longer be counted, and all of them bore witness to it. Then Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said three times: "I too bear witness to this along with you; I myself heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say this."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated through Abu al-Minhal that he said: It reached us that Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), one day while seated on the pulpit, said: "I remind, by Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, any man who heard this from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)," and then he narrated the hadith like the previous narration.
