وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرُّومِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ ، عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ فَهَاجَتِ الرِّيحُ فَوَقَعَ مَا كَانَ فِيهَا مِنْ وَرَقٍ نَخِرٍ ، وَبَقِيَ مَا كَانَ فِيهَا مِنْ وَرَقٍ أَخْضَرَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مَثَلُ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ ؟ " قَالُوا : اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ . قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَثَلُهَا مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِذَا اقْشَعَرَّ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللهِ تَعَالَى وَقَعَتْ عَنْهُ ذُنُوبُهُ وَبَقِيَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَاتُهُ " .
3317 \ 2 - رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ الْعَبَّاسِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهَا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ ، مُقْتَصِرًا عَلَى قَوْلِهِ : " إِذَا اقْشَعَرَّ جِلْدُ الْعَبْدِ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللهِ تَعَالَى تَحَاتَّتْ عَنْهُ خَطَايَاهُ كَمَا تَحَاتُّ عَنِ الشَّجَرَةِ الْيَابِسَةِ وَرَقُهَا " .
3317 \ 2 - رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ الْعَبَّاسِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهَا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ ، مُقْتَصِرًا عَلَى قَوْلِهِ : " إِذَا اقْشَعَرَّ جِلْدُ الْعَبْدِ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللهِ تَعَالَى تَحَاتَّتْ عَنْهُ خَطَايَاهُ كَمَا تَحَاتُّ عَنِ الشَّجَرَةِ الْيَابِسَةِ وَرَقُهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) beneath a tree when suddenly a strong wind blew, as a result of which all the leaves of the tree that had become old and decayed fell off, while the green, fresh leaves remained in their place. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is the likeness of this tree?" The Companions said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Its likeness is that of the believer: when his body trembles out of fear and awe of Allah Almighty, his sins fall away from him (in the same way) and his good deeds remain for him."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded this hadith through another chain, via Umm Kulthum bint al-Abbas, from her father (may Allah be pleased with them both), in which his (peace and blessings be upon him) words are limited to the following: "When the skin of the servant shivers out of fear and awe of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, his sins fall away from him just as the leaves fall from a dry tree."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded this hadith through another chain, via Umm Kulthum bint al-Abbas, from her father (may Allah be pleased with them both), in which his (peace and blessings be upon him) words are limited to the following: "When the skin of the servant shivers out of fear and awe of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, his sins fall away from him just as the leaves fall from a dry tree."
