It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qays bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that, at the time when he was the governor of Egypt, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever deliberately lies against me (that is, attributes to me something I did not say), let him take his bed or his house in the Fire of Hell."
Imam Ahmad bin Mani' recorded this hadith in his Musnad. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who has been criticised; however, the text of the hadith is established by other authentic and mutawatir hadith.
