حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ، وَصَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا إِذَا أَكْثَرْنَا عَلَى أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي الْحَدِيثِ أَتَانَا بِمَخَالِي لَهُ ، فَأَلْقَاهَا إِلَيْنَا ، فَقَالَ : هَذِهِ أَحَادِيثُ سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَتَبْتُهَا ، وَعَرَفْتُهَا .
It is narrated from Yazid al-Raqashi (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: When we pressed and insisted greatly upon Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) to hear hadith, he would bring bags (of written knowledge) that he had and throw them to us, then he would say: "These are all hadith that I heard directly from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) myself, then wrote them down, and (by presenting them to him, peace and blessings be upon him) confirmed and verified them."
The narrator in its chain, Yazid bin Aban al-Raqashi, is da'if (weak) according to the majority of hadith scholars; however, other supporting reports are also narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the writing of hadith.
