وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَيْسَرَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ السَّعْدِيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ ، قَالَا : خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا طَوِيلًا ، وَفِيهِ : أَلَا وَإِنَّ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ، فَإِذَا قَالُوهَا عَصَمُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ ، إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا ، وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a long sermon to us, in which he (peace and blessings be upon him) also mentioned: "Beware! Indeed, my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, has commanded me to fight people until they affirm 'La ilaha illallah' (there is no true god except Allah). So when they say this testimony, they have safeguarded their blood and their wealth from me, except for a (legal) right of this testimony, and their real reckoning rests with Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
