وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادٌ الْمِنْقَرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَكَانَ أَوَّلُ مَا أَوْصَانِي بِهِ ، أَنْ قَالَ : " يَا بُنَيَّ ، اكْتُمْ سِرِّي تَكُنْ مُؤْمِنًا " ، وَكَانَتْ أُمِّي وَأَزْوَاجُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْأَلْنَنِي عَنْ سِرِّ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَا أُخْبِرُهُمْ بِهِ ، وَمَا أَنَا بِمُخْبِرٍ بِسِرِّ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَدًا أَبَدًا . الْحَدِيثَ .
2689 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ هُوَ ابْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَلَاءُ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ ، ثَنَا أَنَسٌ بِهِ .
2689 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ هُوَ ابْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَلَاءُ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ ، ثَنَا أَنَسٌ بِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, and this was the first comprehensive advice he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me: "O my dear son! Keep my secret hidden; you will become a complete believer." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) further relates that (such was his observance of this advice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that) my mother and the pure wives of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would ask me about his (peace and blessings be upon him) hidden secret, but I would never tell them about it; and I will never inform anyone at all of any secret of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated it through the route of Yahya bin Ayyub, Muhammad bin Husayn bin Abi Yazid and Abbad al-Minqari, while Imam Ahmad bin Mani' narrated it through Yazid bin Harun and al-Ala' Abu Muhammad, likewise from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
