حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلِيطٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبِي سَلِيطٍ - وَكَانَ بَدْرِيًّا - أَنَّهُ قَالَ : لَقَدْ أَتَانَا نَهْيُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَكْلِ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ وَنَحْنُ بِخَيْبَرَ ، وَإِنَّ الْقُدُورَ لَتَفُورُ بِهَا ، فَكَفَأْنَاهَا عَلَى وُجُوهِهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Salit (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Companion who fought at Badr, that he said: "The prohibition of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) against eating the meat of donkeys reached us while we were at Khaybar, and the cooking pots were boiling with that meat, so we turned them (that is, the pots) upside down and emptied them."
