It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a young man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing a saffron-coloured wrap, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If this (wrap) were under your family's cooking pot (i.e. used as fuel), it would be better for you." The young man (on hearing this) went away, and the next morning he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "What did you do with your (that) garment?" He said: "I did what you commanded me." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I did not command you to do that. Why did you not give it to one of your womenfolk?"
