وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ : قَاتِلُوا أَهْلَ الْكُفْرِ فَمَنْ بَلَغَ بِسَهْمٍ فَلَهُ دَرَجَةٌ . فَقِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مَا الدَّرَجَةُ ؟ قَالَ : مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ .
It is narrated from Abu Ubaydah (bin Abdullah bin Mas'ud) (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said on the day of the Battle of Badr: "Fight the disbelievers, for whoever strikes (the enemy) with even one arrow will have a rank (in Paradise)." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What is that rank (how vast is it)?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(Its vastness) is equal to the distance between the heaven and the earth." Imam al-Harith recorded this report in his Musnad.
