حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّهُ شَهِدَ حُنَيْنًا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَسْهَمَ لِفَرَسِهِ سَهْمَيْنِ وَلَهُ سَهْمًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hathmah (may Allah be pleased with him) that "he was present at the Battle of Hunayn with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) assigned (when distributing the spoils of war) two shares for his horse and one share for him himself."
