وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو خَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ وَرْدَانَ ، قَالَ أَبُو خَيْرَةَ : لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَدْخُلَنَّ الْحَمَّامَ إِلَّا بِمِئْزَرٍ ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ مِنْ إِنَاثِ أُمَّتِي فَلَا تَدْخُلَنَّ الْحَمَّامَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever believes in Allah Almighty and the Last Day must never enter the (public) hammam without a waist-wrap (garment covering the private parts); and whoever among the women of my Ummah believes in Allah Almighty and the Last Day must never enter the hammam."
Imam Ibn Abi Umar narrated this hadith in his Musnad; Imam al-Tirmidhi (2801) and Imam al-Nasa'i (401) also recorded narrations with this meaning, and on the basis of supporting reports this hadith is sahih (authentic).
