وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ سِيرِينَ عَنْ دُخُولِ الْحَمَّامِ ، فَقَالَ : " كَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَكْرَهُهُ " .
It is narrated from Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him): I asked Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) about entering the hammam (public bathhouse), and he said: "Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to dislike it."
Imam Musaddad narrated it in his Musnad, and all its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
