قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ، نَبَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ ، نَبَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تَحْتَ رَجُلٍ ، فَمَرِضَ أَبُوهَا ، فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، إِنَّ أَبِي مَرِيضٌ ، وَزَوْجِي يَأْبَى أَنْ يَأْذَنَ لِي أَنْ أُمَرِّضَهُ ! فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَطِيعِي زَوْجَكِ " .
فَمَاتَ أَبُوهَا ، فَاسْتَأْذَنَتْ زَوْجَهَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَأَبَى زَوْجُهَا أَنْ يَأْذَنَ لَهَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَسَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهَا : " أَطِيعِي زَوْجَكِ " .
فَأَطَاعَتْ زَوْجَهَا ، وَلَمْ تُصَلِّ عَلَى أَبِيهَا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَدْ غَفَرَ اللهُ لِأَبِيكِ بِطَوَاعِيَتِكِ زَوْجَكِ " .
1669 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، ثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ ، فَذَكَرَهُ ، لَكِنْ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَجُلًا غَزَا وَامْرَأَتُهُ فِي عُلْوٍ ، وَأَبُوهَا فِي سُفْلٍ ، وَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ لَا تَخْرُجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهَا ، فَاشْتَكَى أَبُوهَا ... فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِتَمَامِهِ .
فَمَاتَ أَبُوهَا ، فَاسْتَأْذَنَتْ زَوْجَهَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَأَبَى زَوْجُهَا أَنْ يَأْذَنَ لَهَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَسَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهَا : " أَطِيعِي زَوْجَكِ " .
فَأَطَاعَتْ زَوْجَهَا ، وَلَمْ تُصَلِّ عَلَى أَبِيهَا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَدْ غَفَرَ اللهُ لِأَبِيكِ بِطَوَاعِيَتِكِ زَوْجَكِ " .
1669 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، ثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ ، فَذَكَرَهُ ، لَكِنْ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَجُلًا غَزَا وَامْرَأَتُهُ فِي عُلْوٍ ، وَأَبُوهَا فِي سُفْلٍ ، وَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ لَا تَخْرُجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهَا ، فَاشْتَكَى أَبُوهَا ... فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِتَمَامِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman was married to a man. Her father fell ill, so she came into the noble presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, my father is ill, while my husband refuses to give me permission to go and nurse him." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Obey your husband."
Then her father passed away, and she asked her husband's permission to attend his funeral prayer, but the husband again refused to give permission. She asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it once more, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) again gave the same instruction: "Obey your husband."
So the woman obeyed her husband and did not attend her father's funeral prayer. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Because of this obedience of yours to your husband, Allah Almighty has forgiven your father."
Imam al-Harith also narrated this same incident with his chain through Yusuf bin Atiyyah, in these words: a man set out on a military expedition; his wife lived on the upper floor of the house while her father lived on the lower floor, and the man had strictly ordered his wife not to go out of the house. Then her father fell ill, and the narrator went on to mention the complete hadith in the same way.
