Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 1670 — The husband's right over the wife

It is narrated from Umarah bin Ghurab that his paternal aunt asked the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her), about an issue, saying: If the husband of one of us desires (intimacy with) his wife but she refuses, whether because she is in a state of displeasure or because at that time she has no eagerness or readiness for it, is there any blame or sin upon that woman in such a case? The Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: "Yes! (It is a cause of sin.) Your husband's right over you is so binding and great that even if he asks for you while you are riding on a camel's saddle, you should not refuse him."
