وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نُعْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَصَى الْجِمَارِ مَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهُ رُفِعَ ، وَمَا رُدَّ تُرِكَ ، وَلَوْلَا ذَلِكَ كَانَ أَطْوَلَ مِنْ شِبْرٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said (concerning the pebbles of the Jamarat): "Those of these pebbles of the Jamarat that are accepted (in the Divine Presence) are lifted up, and those that are rejected are left there; and were it not for this (unseen act of lifting), the heap of pebbles there would have become far higher than a hand-span."
