Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 1258 — Stoning the Jamarat

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Amr bin Uthman that he heard Sayyiduna Abu Habbah (may Allah be pleased with him) giving the people this religious ruling: "There is no harm if, in stoning the Jamarat, a man throws pebbles or other things like them." Abdullah bin Amr says: Then this was mentioned to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he said (in support of it): "He has spoken the truth."
Sayyiduna Abu Habbah (may Allah be pleased with him) was among those eminent Companions who had the honour of taking part in the Battle of Badr.
