It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting on six days of the year: the three days of Tashriq, the day of Eid al-Fitr, the day of Eid al-Adha, and singling out the day of Friday alone for fasting.
Imam Ahmad bin Mani' and Imam al-Harith narrated, through Rawh bin Ubadah, from both al-Rabi' bin Subayh and Marzuq Abu Abdullah al-Shami, through Yazid al-Raqashi, the narration of Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting on the three days of Tashriq after the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr). Imam Abu Ya'la also narrated this same report through Abu Khaythamah from Rawh. Musa bin Muhammad narrated the like of al-Tayalisi's narration through the chain of Kahmas bin al-Minhal, Sa'id bin Abi Arubah and Yazid al-Raqashi. Imam Abu Ya'la also narrated it from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) through the chain of Muhammad bin Khalid al-Tahhan, his father, Sa'id and Qatadah; but I (Ibn Hajar) say: Muhammad bin Khalid erred in it; the correct narrator is Yazid al-Raqashi, not Qatadah. Imam al-Harith also narrated the like of al-Tayalisi's narration through the chain of Abdullah bin Awn, Abu Ubaydah, Abu Abdullah and Yazid al-Raqashi.
