قَالَ الْحَارِثُ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ جَرِيحٍ ، حُدِّثْتُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ فِي الصَّيْفِ ، لَا يُصَلِّي فِي الصَّيْفِ الْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا كَانَ صَائِمًا حَتَّى آتِيَهُ بِرُطَبٍ فَيَأْكُلَ وَيَشْرَبَ ، ثُمَّ يَقُومَ فَيُصَلِّيَ ، وَإِذَا كَانَ الشِّتَاءُ أَتَيْتُهُ بِتَمْرٍ فَيَأْكُلُ وَيَشْرَبُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ يُصَلِّي .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): "When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was fasting in summer, he would not offer the Maghrib prayer until I had brought him fresh dates; he (peace and blessings be upon him) would eat them and drink water, then stand up for the prayer. And when it was winter, I would bring him (peace and blessings be upon him) dry dates; he (peace and blessings be upon him) would eat them and drink water, then stand up for the prayer."
