The depth of the pit of Hell

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a stone as heavy as seven pregnant she-camels, including the weight of their fat and their young, were thrown into Hell and kept falling for seventy years, even then it would not reach its bottom."
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Yazid bin Aban al-Raqashi, and he is da'if (weak), though he has been declared trustworthy; the remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a stone were thrown into Hell, it would keep falling for seventy years before reaching its bottom."
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded something similar. The chain of both contains a narrator, Ata' bin al-Sa'ib, who suffered from confusion (ikhtilat) in his memory; the remaining narrators of both are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "If a stone were falling into Hell, it would not reach its bottom even in seventy years."
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani recorded it; the chain of both contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Aban al-Ju'fi, and he is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a terrifying sound. Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came to him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "O Jibril, what was this sound?" He replied: "It was the sound of a rock that began falling from the edge of Hell seventy years ago, and just now it reached its bottom. Allah Almighty loved that you should hear its sound." The narrator says: After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was never again seen laughing heartily, until Allah Almighty took him in death.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Isma'il bin Qays al-Ansari, and he is da'if (weak).

Luqman bin Amir says: I came to Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Narrate to me a hadith that you heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." He said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "If a rock weighing as much as ten pregnant she-camels were thrown from the edge of Hell, it would not reach its bottom even in seventy years, until it reaches 'Ghayy' and 'Atham'." It was asked: "What is meant by 'Ghayy' and 'Atham'?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are two wells in Hell in which the pus of the people of Hell flows, and they are the two which Allah Almighty has mentioned in His Book in these words: (Allah Almighty says:) 'They neglected the prayer and followed their desires, so they will soon meet Ghayy.' (And Allah Almighty says:) 'And whoever does that will meet Atham.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains weak narrators whom Ibn Hibban declared trustworthy, saying: "They make mistakes."

It is narrated that some of the people of knowledge stated: Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is my soul, the distance from the edge of Hell to its bottom is such that if a rock equal in weight to seven pregnant she-camels, together with their fat, their flesh and their offspring, were to begin falling into Hell, it would reach its bottom from its edge in seventy years."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator who is not named, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
