Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person came to know what situation he will face after death, he would not eat anything nor drink anything, but would only keep weeping and beating his chest." Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ibrahim bin Harasah, who is matruk (abandoned).

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Compared with what comes after it, death (in its severity) is only like the butt of a young goat."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain contains a group of narrators whom I do not know.

Abd al-Aziz al-Attar reports this narration from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), and I think he reported it as a marfu' hadith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Since Allah Almighty created the son of Adam, he has not faced anything harder for him than death; and yet death is easy compared with what comes after it. On the Day of Resurrection people will face such severe terror that sweat will bridle them, and the sweat will be so much that if ships were sailed in it, they would sail."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is jayyid (good). Ahmad recorded it in abridged form from that Companion, and he did not express doubt about its being marfu', and its chain is jayyid (good).
