Sayyiduna Utbah bin Ghazwan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you loses something, or wants help, and he is in a place where he has no companion, he should say: 'O servants of Allah, help me!' (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) For Allah Almighty has some servants whom we do not see." The narrator says: This has been tried (that is, doing so is of benefit).
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy, although there is weakness in some of its narrators; moreover, the narrator Zayd bin Ali did not live in the time of Sayyiduna Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has some angels on earth, other than the guardian angels, who record the leaves that fall from the trees. When any one of you is struck by some difficulty in a barren wilderness, he should call out aloud: 'O servants of Allah, help me!'"
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the animal of any one of you breaks loose in a barren wilderness, that person should call out aloud: 'O servants of Allah, hold it back! O servants of Allah, hold it back!' For there is a creation of Allah present on the earth that can hold it back."
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani recorded it, and he recorded these words: "Then soon he will hold it back for you." The chain of this report contains Ma'ruf bin Hassan, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding a lost item: a person should say (or perhaps it is meant that, regarding a lost item, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite):
'Allahumma radda ad-dallah, wa hadiya ad-dallah, tahdi min ad-dalalah, urdud 'alayya dallati bi-qudratika wa sultanik, fa-innaha min 'ata'ika wa fadlik' (O Allah, O Restorer of what is lost, and Guide of the one who has strayed, You guide away from misguidance; return my lost item to me by Your power and Your authority, for it is part of Your gift and Your bounty.)
Al-Tabarani recorded it in his three books; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Rahman bin Ya'qub bin Abi Abbad al-Makki, whom I do not know, and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
