بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ .

عَنِ ابْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " خَيْرُ أَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ عَبْدُ الْقَيْسِ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ وَهْبُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زِمَامٍ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of the people of the East are Abd al-Qays (i.e. the people of this tribe)."
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Wahb bin Yahya bin Zimam, whom I do not know. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " خَيْرُ أَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ عَبْدُ الْقَيْسِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

وَعَنْ نُوحِ بْنِ مَخْلَدٍ : أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَهُوَ بِمَكَّةَ فَسَأَلَهُ : " مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ ؟ " . فَقَالَ : أَنَا مِنْ ضُبَيْعَةَ مِنْ رَبِيعَةَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " خَيْرُ رَبِيعَةَ عَبْدُ الْقَيْسِ ، ثُمَّ الْحَيُّ الَّذِي أَنْتَ مِنْهُمْ " . قَالَ : وَأَبْضَعَ مَعَهُ فِي جُلْبَتَيْنِ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : وَأَبْضَعَ مَعَهُ فِي جَيْشٍ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .
Sayyiduna Nuh bin Makhlad (may Allah be pleased with him) states: He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in Makkah at that time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Whom are you from?" He replied: "I am from Dubay'ah of Rabi'ah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of Rabi'ah is the tribe of Abd al-Qays, and then the clan to which you belong." The narrator says: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also sent some goods with him to Yemen.
