Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "O Abu al-Walid!" He is the Companion who had the honour of taking part in the Battle of Badr, the Pledge of Aqabah, the Battle of Uhud and the Pledge of Ridwan, and he was a naqib (chief representative).
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to them: "O company of the Ansar! Why is it that you did not come to meet me along with your brothers from Quraysh?" Sayyiduna Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Because of need." Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do you not have camels?" They replied: "We wore them out on the day of Badr, fighting alongside the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Ata bin al-Sa'ib, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but suffered from confusion (ikhtilat), and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Muhammad bin Ishaq narrates: This is Sayyiduna Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) bin al-Samit bin Qays bin Asram bin Fihr bin Tha'labah bin Ghanm bin Salim bin Awf bin Amr bin Awf bin al-Khazraj.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Makhul narrates: Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) both resided in Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem).
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his teacher Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam, and he is da'if (weak).

Yahya bin Bukayr narrates: Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away in al-Sham, in the city of al-Ramlah in the land of Palestine, in 34 AH, and at that time he was 72 years old.
