Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Uthman al-Qurashi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to his daughter while she was washing the head of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O my daughter! Treat Abu Abdullah well, for among my Companions he is the one who most resembles me in character.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I went to Sayyidah Ruqayyah (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the wife of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), and there was a comb in her hand. She said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has just left me; I had combed his hair. He asked: How do you find Abu Abdullah? I replied: He is very good. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Honour him, for among my Companions he is one of those who most resemble me in character.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Abdullah, who narrates from al-Muttalib, and I do not know him. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
