Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came with my father to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), and I saw that Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) was standing at his head. She was a woman of fair complexion. I saw that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) too was a man of fair complexion and slender build. He gave me and my father two horses to ride; then we presented ourselves before him, and he gave us permission.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

A man from Banu Asad narrates: I saw Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) on the occasion of the expedition of Dhat al-Salasil; his beard was red like the tree called 'arfaj. He was riding his she-camel, and he was a man of fair complexion and slender build.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and I do not know the man from Banu Asad; the remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.

It is reported about Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she was in her howdah when she saw a man passing by, and she said: I have not seen anyone who resembles Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) more than this man. It was said to her: Describe to us the appearance of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: He was a man of fair complexion, slender build and light cheeks; his waist-wrapper would not stay in place but would slip down from his sides; his face had little flesh, his eyes were sunken, his forehead was prominent, and there was little flesh on the joints of his fingers. This is his description.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Waqidi, and he is da'if (weak). Some hadiths about applying dye have already passed before this.

Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: During a military expedition, or perhaps on the occasion of Hajj (this doubt is from the narrator), some Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me. I looked at them carefully, and I did not see among them anyone of finer appearance than Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him); he had wrapped himself in a cloak that protected against heat and cold. (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: After this the narrator mentioned the full hadith, which has already passed in the Book of the Caliphate, in the chapter on the dislike of holding authority.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
