Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, I take a covenant with You which You will not break: I am only a human being. Whichever believer I hurt, or speak ill of (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) or curse, or flog, then make that for him a means of purification, mercy and nearness by which You bring him near to You on the Day of Resurrection."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) handed a man over to Sayyidah Hafsah bint Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said to her: "Keep watch over him." Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) became heedless of him, and the man went away. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, he asked: "O Hafsah, what happened to the man?" Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Messenger of Allah, I became heedless of him, and he left." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah cut off your hand." She made a gesture with her hand (or she raised her hands). Later the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came into the house, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Hafsah, what is the matter with you?" She said: "O Messenger of Allah, earlier you said such-and-such about me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Lower your hand! I have asked my Lord that for any member of my Ummah against whom I supplicate to Allah Almighty, He make that supplication a means of forgiveness for that person."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Groups of Arabs came in great numbers to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), until he was distressed. The Muhajirun rose and came to him and moved those people away from him, until he stood at the threshold of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). They pressed hard upon him, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) let go of his cloak, leaving it in their hands, and quickly leapt over the threshold and went inside. Then he said: "O Allah, curse them!" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Messenger of Allah, these people will be ruined." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Certainly not! By Allah, O daughter of Abu Bakr, I have made a condition with my Lord which will not be broken. I said: I am a human being; I become distressed just as any human being becomes distressed. So whichever of the believers something hasty comes from me against, make it an expiation for that person." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: This narration is reported in the Sahih from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), but without this context.
Ahmad recorded it, and the chain of this narration is hasan (good), except that the narrator Muhammad bin Ja'far bin al-Zubayr did not meet Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
