Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the market. Meanwhile a woman took hold of the reins of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) mount; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding a donkey at the time. She said: "O Messenger of Allah, my husband does not come near me; separate me from him." Then that woman's husband passed by. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called him and said: "What is the matter? What is your affair with this woman? She came to complain about you, and she was complaining that you do not come near her." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, by the One who has honoured you, I was intimate with this woman last night." The woman began to weep and said: "He is lying. Separate me from him, for he is the most hateful of Allah's creation to me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled at this. Then he took hold of the man's head and the woman's head, brought them together and made this supplication: "O Allah, bring each of them close to the other." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Some time passed, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed through that market, and that woman was there, carrying leather. When she saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), she put the leather aside, came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, by the One who sent you with the truth, there is now no one dearer to me than this man (that is, my husband), except that your (peace and blessings be upon him) case is different."
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Yusuf bin Muhammad bin al-Munkadir; Abu Zur'ah and others declared him thiqah (trustworthy), and a group declared him da'if (weak).
