بَابٌ فِيمَنْ يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ

عَنْ أَنَسٍ :
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ يَرْفَعُونَ حَجَرًا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا يَصْنَعُ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ " . قَالُوا : يَرْفَعُونَ حَجَرًا يُرِيدُونَ الشِّدَّةَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" أَفَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ ؟ - أَوْ كَلِمَةٌ نَحْوَهَا - الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ " .
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ يَرْفَعُونَ حَجَرًا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا يَصْنَعُ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ " . قَالُوا : يَرْفَعُونَ حَجَرًا يُرِيدُونَ الشِّدَّةَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" أَفَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ ؟ - أَوْ كَلِمَةٌ نَحْوَهَا - الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people who were lifting a stone. He said: "What are these people doing?" The people said: "They lift the stone to show their strength." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not guide you to someone who is stronger than such a person (the narrator is in doubt; perhaps he said some other word like it)? It is the one who controls himself at the time of anger."
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ عَنْهُ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ يَصْطَرِخُونَ فَقَالَ : " مَا هَذَا ؟ " . فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فُلَانٌ الصَّرِيعُ ، مَا يُصَارِعُ أَحَدًا إِلَّا صَرَعَهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَفَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ ؟ رَجُلُ ظَلَمَهُ رَجُلٌ ، فَكَظَمَ غَيْظَهُ ، فَغَلَبَهُ وَغَلَبَ شَيْطَانَهُ ، وَغَلَبَ شَيْطَانَ صَاحِبِهِ " .
رَوَاهُمَا الْبَزَّارُ بِإِسْنَادٍ وَاحِدٍ ، وَفِيهِ شُعَيْبُ بْنُ بَيَانٍ وَعِمْرَانُ الْقَطَّانُ ، وَوَثَّقَهُمَا ابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَضَعَّفَهُمَا غَيْرُهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُمَا الْبَزَّارُ بِإِسْنَادٍ وَاحِدٍ ، وَفِيهِ شُعَيْبُ بْنُ بَيَانٍ وَعِمْرَانُ الْقَطَّانُ ، وَوَثَّقَهُمَا ابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَضَعَّفَهُمَا غَيْرُهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
In a narration from the same Companion, the wording is: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people who were wrestling with one another. He asked: "What is this?" The people said: "This is so-and-so, the wrestler; whoever comes up against him, this man throws him down." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not guide you to one who is stronger than this man? It is the man who is wronged by another man and gains control over his anger; he overcomes himself, overcomes his own devil, and overcomes the devil of his companion as well."
Al-Bazzar recorded both of these narrations with a single chain. Its chain contains Shu'ayb bin Bayan and Imran al-Qattan; Ibn Hibban declared them both thiqah (trustworthy), while others declared them both da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of both narrations are the narrators of the Sahih.

وَعَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" مَنْ دَفَعَ غَضَبَهُ دَفَعَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَذَابَهُ ، وَمَنْ حَفِظَ لِسَانَهُ سَتَرَ اللَّهُ عَوْرَتَهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

This is narrated from the same Companion; he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever holds back his anger, Allah Almighty holds back His punishment from him; and whoever guards his tongue, Allah Almighty conceals his private matters."

وَعَنْ رَجُلٍ شَهِدَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَخْطُبُ فَقَالَ :
" تَدْرُونَ مَا الرَّقُوبُ ؟ " . قَالُوا : الَّذِي لَا وَلَدَ لَهُ . فَقَالَ : " الرَّقُوبُ كُلُّ الرَّقُوبِ ، الرَّقُوبُ كُلُّ الرَّقُوبِ الرَّقُوبُ كُلُّ الرَّقُوبِ ، الَّذِي لَهُ وَلَدٌ فَمَاتَ ، وَلَمْ يُقَدِّمْ مِنْهُنَّ شَيْئًا " .
قَالَ : " تَدْرُونَ مَا الصُّعْلُوكُ ؟ " . قَالُوا : الَّذِي لَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ . قَالَ : " الصُّعْلُوكُ كُلُّ الصُّعْلُوكِ ، الصُّعْلُوكُ كُلُّ الصُّعْلُوكِ ، الصُّعْلُوكُ كُلُّ الصُّعْلُوكِ ، الَّذِي لَهُ مَالٌ فَمَاتَ ، وَلَمْ يُقَدِّمْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا " .
ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَا الصُّرَعَةُ ؟ " . قَالُوا : الصَّرِيعُ . قَالَ : " الصُّرَعَةُ كُلُّ الصُّرَعَةِ ، الصُّرَعَةُ كُلُّ الصُّرَعَةِ ، الصُّرَعَةُ كُلُّ الصُّرَعَةِ ، الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي يَغْضَبُ فَيَشْتَدُّ غَضَبُهُ ، وَيَحْمَرُّ وَجْهُهُ ، وَيَقْشَعِرُّ شَعْرُهُ ، فَيَصْرَعُ غَضَبَهُ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ أَبُو حَصْبَةَ أَوِ ابْنُ حَصْبَةَ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
" تَدْرُونَ مَا الرَّقُوبُ ؟ " . قَالُوا : الَّذِي لَا وَلَدَ لَهُ . فَقَالَ : " الرَّقُوبُ كُلُّ الرَّقُوبِ ، الرَّقُوبُ كُلُّ الرَّقُوبِ الرَّقُوبُ كُلُّ الرَّقُوبِ ، الَّذِي لَهُ وَلَدٌ فَمَاتَ ، وَلَمْ يُقَدِّمْ مِنْهُنَّ شَيْئًا " .
قَالَ : " تَدْرُونَ مَا الصُّعْلُوكُ ؟ " . قَالُوا : الَّذِي لَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ . قَالَ : " الصُّعْلُوكُ كُلُّ الصُّعْلُوكِ ، الصُّعْلُوكُ كُلُّ الصُّعْلُوكِ ، الصُّعْلُوكُ كُلُّ الصُّعْلُوكِ ، الَّذِي لَهُ مَالٌ فَمَاتَ ، وَلَمْ يُقَدِّمْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا " .
ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَا الصُّرَعَةُ ؟ " . قَالُوا : الصَّرِيعُ . قَالَ : " الصُّرَعَةُ كُلُّ الصُّرَعَةِ ، الصُّرَعَةُ كُلُّ الصُّرَعَةِ ، الصُّرَعَةُ كُلُّ الصُّرَعَةِ ، الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي يَغْضَبُ فَيَشْتَدُّ غَضَبُهُ ، وَيَحْمَرُّ وَجْهُهُ ، وَيَقْشَعِرُّ شَعْرُهُ ، فَيَصْرَعُ غَضَبَهُ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ أَبُو حَصْبَةَ أَوِ ابْنُ حَصْبَةَ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
A Companion who was present at a sermon of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Do you know who the raqub (the childless one) is?" The people said: "The one who has no children." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The raqub who is completely raqub, who is completely raqub, the raqub who is completely raqub, is the one who had children and then died without having sent any of them ahead of him." The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you know who the su'luk (the pauper) is?" The people said: "The one who has no wealth." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The pauper who is a complete pauper, the pauper who is a complete pauper, the pauper who is a complete pauper, is the one who has wealth and dies without having sent any of that wealth ahead." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you know what strength is?" The people said: "That which is in a wrestler." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The strength that is complete strength, the strength that is complete strength, the strength that is complete strength, belongs to the man who becomes angry, his anger grows intense, his face turns red and his hair bristles, and at that moment he gains control over his anger."
