Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "It is not lawful for a woman to be married on the condition of another woman's (that is, the first wife's) divorce; it is not lawful for a man to make a sale over the sale of his companion until the other leaves it; and it is not permissible for three people who are in a barren wilderness that two of them talk privately, leaving out their companion."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who is layyin (soft, weak). The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
