Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah narrates: My father said to me: "When you pass by a gathering, greet the people of that gathering with salam. If they are engaged in good, you will become their partner, and if they are in some other state, you will receive your reward." I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say it like this.
Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.

Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah reports from his father that he said: "O my son! When you are in a gathering and you hope for its good, and you have to get up in a hurry for some need, then say 'As-salamu alaykum', for you will share in whatever reward those people receive in that gathering."
Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Bistam bin Muslim, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
