بَابٌ فِيمَنْ سَلَّمَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ وَهُمْ فِي خَيْرٍ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ
One who greets people while they are engaged in good or otherwise

وَعَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ :
يَا بُنَيَّ ، إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ تَرْجُو خَيْرَهُ ، فَعَجَّلَتْ بِكَ حَاجَةٌ ، فَقُلِ : السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ ، فَإِنَّكَ شَرِيكُهُمْ فِيمَا يَصِيبُونَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْمَجْلِسِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ بِسِطَامِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .

Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah reports from his father that he said: "O my son! When you are in a gathering and you hope for its good, and you have to get up in a hurry for some need, then say 'As-salamu alaykum', for you will share in whatever reward those people receive in that gathering."
Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Bistam bin Muslim, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
