Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The rider should greet the one who is walking, and the one who is walking should greet the one who is sitting; and of two people walking, whichever of them is first to greet is the more virtuous."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Hadith Takhrij «
Abu Sallam narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Shibl (may Allah be pleased with him): "Teach the people what you have heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) gathered the people and then said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Acquire the knowledge of the Qur'an, and when you have acquired its knowledge, do not go to extremes in it, do not abandon it, do not eat by it (by taking payment for it), and do not increase your wealth through it." Then he said: "The traders are indeed the sinners." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Has Allah Almighty not made trade lawful and made usury (riba) unlawful?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! But they swear oaths (that is, false oaths) and become sinners." Then he said: "The wicked (fussaq) are indeed the people of Hell." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Who are the wicked?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The women." The people said: "Are they not our mothers, our daughters and our sisters?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! But their state is that when they are given something, they are not grateful, and when they are put to trial, they are not patient." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The rider should greet the one on foot, the one on foot should greet the one sitting, and the fewer should greet the greater number. Whoever returns the greeting will have its reward, and whoever does not return it will have nothing."
Tabarani recorded it, and these are his words; Ahmad also recorded it, and the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih.
