بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنْ تَعَاطِي السَّيْفِ مَسْلُولًا .

عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ : أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَلَى قَوْمٍ يَتَعَاطَوْنَ سَيْفًا مَسْلُولًا فَقَالَ : " لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ فَعَلَ هَذَا . أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ نَهَيْتُ عَنْ هَذَا ؟ " . ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِذَا سَلَّ أَحَدُكُمْ سَيْفَهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُنَاوِلَهُ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُغْمِدْهُ ثُمَّ يُنَاوِلُهُ إِيَّاهُ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ وَلَكِنَّهُ مُدَلِّسٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came upon some people who were passing a drawn sword to one another. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty curse whoever does this! Have you not been forbidden from this?" Then he said: "When one of you has drawn his sword and looked at it, and then wants to hand it to his brother, let him first sheathe it and then hand it to him."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Mubarak bin Fadalah, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis, and the rest of Ahmad's narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

وَعَنْ بَنَّةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ - أَوْ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ - يَسُلُّونَ سَيْفًا بَيْنَهُمْ - يَتَعَاطَوْنَهُ بَيْنَهُمْ - غَيْرَ مَغْمُودٍ ، فَقَالَ : " لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ ، لَوْ لَمْ أَزْجُرْكُمْ عَنْ هَذَا ، فَإِذَا سَلَلْتُمُ السَّيْفَ فَلْيَغْمِدْهُ الرَّجُلُ ثُمَّ لِيُعْطِهِ كَذَلِكَ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَفِيهِ لِينٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Bannah al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people in the mosque (the narrator is in doubt; perhaps the words are:) in a gathering, who had drawn swords and were passing them to one another unsheathed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty curse whoever does this! Had I not forbidden you from this before (I would have punished you). When you have drawn a sword, a man should first sheathe it and then give it to the other person in that state (with the sword in its sheath)."

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ فِي مَجْلِسٍ يَسُلُّونَ سَيْفًا يَتَعَاطَوْنَهُ بَيْنَهُمْ غَيْرَ مَغْمُودٍ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَمْ أَزْجُرْ عَنْ هَذَا ؟ فَإِذَا سَلَّ أَحَدُكُمُ السَّيْفَ فَلْيَغْمِدْهُ ثُمَّ لِيُعْطِهِ أَخَاهُ " . قُلْتُ : فِي الصَّحِيحِ طَرَفٌ مِنْهُ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

(Al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of this narration is in the Sahih.
