وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ فِي مَجْلِسٍ يَسُلُّونَ سَيْفًا يَتَعَاطَوْنَهُ بَيْنَهُمْ غَيْرَ مَغْمُودٍ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَمْ أَزْجُرْ عَنْ هَذَا ؟ فَإِذَا سَلَّ أَحَدُكُمُ السَّيْفَ فَلْيَغْمِدْهُ ثُمَّ لِيُعْطِهِ أَخَاهُ " . قُلْتُ : فِي الصَّحِيحِ طَرَفٌ مِنْهُ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people in a gathering who had drawn swords and were passing them to one another without sheathing them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Did I not forbid you from this? If one of you has drawn a sword, let him first sheathe it and then give it to his brother." (Al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of this narration is in the Sahih.
