Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will remain under protection from your Lord as long as two kinds of heedlessness do not appear among you: the heedlessness of ignorance and the heedlessness of love of life. You will enjoin good, forbid evil and strive in the path of Allah; but when love of this world appears among you, you will not enjoin good, nor forbid evil, nor strive in the path of Allah. At that time, those who speak according to the Book and the Sunnah will be like 'the first forerunners' from the Muhajirun and the Ansar."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains al-Hasan bin Bishr, whom Abu Hatim and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), and there is weakness in him.

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This religion has an advance and a retreat. Behold! Part of the advance of this religion is that an entire tribe will acquire understanding of the religion, until only one or two sinners remain among them, both of them lowly; and if those two speak, they will speak suppressed and under compulsion. And part of the retreat of this religion is that the entire tribe will be harsh, with only one or two scholars among them, and both of them will be lowly; if they speak, they will speak suppressed and under compulsion. And the last part of this Ummah will curse its first. Behold! The curse will become due upon them, until they drink wine openly, and until a woman passes by a group of people and one of them gets up, goes to her and lifts the hem of her garment just as one lifts the tail of a ewe. If on that day someone says: 'Take her behind this wall,' then at that time his example among them will be like that of Abu Bakr and Umar among you. At that time, whoever enjoins good and forbids evil will receive the reward of fifty of those who saw me, believed in me, obeyed me and pledged allegiance to me."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Ali bin Yazid, who is matruk (abandoned).

Abd al-Rahman bin al-Hadrami narrates: I was told by someone who heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There will be people in my Ummah who will be given a reward like the reward of the first people of this Ummah; they will be people who stop the evil."
Ahmad recorded it; I do not know the narrator Abd al-Rahman, and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
