Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Learn the Book of Allah, keep up with it and recite it beautifully. By the One in whose hand is my soul, it escapes more quickly than a camel slips out of its tether."
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, though al-Tabarani's wording is: "It escapes more quickly than a pregnant she-camel slips out of its tether." The narrators of Imam Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Keep up with the Qur'an! By the One in whose hand is my soul, it escapes from the breasts of men more quickly than a tethered camel escapes toward its resting place."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that the lineage of al-Tabarani's teacher Ahmad is not given. If he is Ahmad bin al-Khalil, then he is da'if (weak); and if he is someone else, then I do not know him.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Keep up with the Qur'an! For it escapes from the breasts of men more quickly than birds fly back to their nests."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in all three books, though in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir his wording is: "Keep up with the Qur'an, for it is wild (quick to flee)." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is in the "Sahih" without this context. The narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat are thiqat (trustworthy).
