عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " تَعَلَّمُوا كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَتَعَاهَدُوهُ وَتَغَنَّوْا بِهِ ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَلُّتًا مِنَ النَّعَمِ فِي الْعُقُلِ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنَ الْمَخَاضِ فِي الْعُقُلِ " . وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Learn the Book of Allah, keep up with it and recite it beautifully. By the One in whose hand is my soul, it escapes more quickly than a camel slips out of its tether."
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, though al-Tabarani's wording is: "It escapes more quickly than a pregnant she-camel slips out of its tether." The narrators of Imam Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.
