Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to order the payment of Sadaqat al-Fitr before performing the Eid prayer, and he would recite this verse: "Indeed, he has succeeded who purifies himself, and remembers the name of his Lord and prays."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Kathir bin Abdullah, who is da'if (weak), and Tirmidhi declared his hadith hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Allah Almighty says: "He has succeeded who purifies himself." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allah, renounces all partners, and bears witness that I am the Messenger of Allah (such a person will be counted among those who purify themselves)." Allah Almighty says: "And he remembers the name of his Lord and prays." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This means the five prayers and performing them regularly."
